THE ROLE OF NITRIC OXIDE IN THE REFLECTORY AUTOREGULATION OF BLOOD CIRCULATION

In this review there is presented a modern conception about the nitric oxide system in the reflectory regulation of the vascular tone and cardiac function. According to already published and our own experimental data we consider the question of nitric oxide biosynthesis by the specific enzymes in the central and peripheral nervous systems, the participation of nitric oxide in the neural transmission within the different parts of the nervous system and realization of cardiogenic and sinocarotid depressor and pressor reflexes as well as their participation in reflectory reactions under acute myocardial ischemia.

The data concerning the differences of reflectory regulation of circulation mediated by nitric oxide in the different species are presented.
