SPONTANEOUS SEIZURE ACTIVITY IN CONDITIONS OF PILOCARPINE-INDUCED STATUS EPILEPTICUS: THE CHARACTERISTIC OF MODEL

The experimental data are given dedicated to spontaneous seizures development in conditions of pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus (SE). Spontaneous seizures formation peculiarities together with time-dependent electrophysiological features of the model were studied in SE postponed period. Spontaneous seizures were shown to develop approximately 20–25 days after pilocarpine injection with the acute seizures first appearance which have usually greater intensity and different behaviour and electrographic criteria’s. Ventral hippocampus was the first structure generated enhanced electrographic activity in the majority of rats during the postponed spontaneous seizures initiation. One could see also the tendency of the spontaneous seizure activity episodes dependency on acute pilocarpine-induced seizures duration under conditions of the used ES model.
