ANALYSIS OF THE TOCOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF DERIVATIVES OF IMIDAZO[1,2-A]AZEPINE

Against the background of demographic decline every pregnancy is valuable and important. The efforts should be directed to preserve and deliver a healthy baby. The problem of premature birth is important for every country regardless of its economic status. There are different ways to solve this problem, namely one of them is the pharmacological correction of premature uterine contractions. In spite of a great number of available tocolytic drugs there is no one safe for both mother and fetus, mainly because of their nonselective effect. It is necessary to find new safe tocolytic drugs which are selective by their action. We have implemented screening study among derivatives of imidazo[1,2-a] azepine on isolated longitudinal strips of uterine horns of rats under sexual cycle — diestrus. As a result there was selected a compound leader under the designation IFT_000208, which effectively changes the two “horizontal” (tone, the interval between contractions) and one “vertical” (amplitude decrease) parameters.
