CHANGE OF FUNCTIONAL INDICATORS OF LIVER AND ESTRALIOL LEVEL IN POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN SUFFERING FROM ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES MELLITUS

In women with AH of 2–3 degrees, type 2 DM and combined pathology (AH 2–3 degrees and type 2 diabetes), in the postmenopausal period of life, there are violations of AlAT, ASAT, with a significant change in estradiol in venous blood. Estradiol can be attributed to the prognostic hormonal marker of a disturbance of the functional state of the liver in postmenopausal women. DM has a negative effect on the functional state of the liver in the postmenopausal period.

In the treatment of women with AH of 2–3 grades and type 2 DM and with combined pathology (AH 2–3 degrees and type 2 DM) in the postmenopausal period, it is necessary to take into account the parameters of AlAT, AsAT and estradiol level, with the purpose of appropriate correction of the functional state of the liver.

A three-month course of treatment with α-lipoic acid in patients with 2–3-grade AH and type 2 DM in postmenopausal women reliably stabilizes blood aminotransferases, has hepatoprotective effects in this cohort of patients.
