THE REGULATING CEREBROPROTECTORS IN ISCHEMIC BRAIN INJURE

Piracetam and other nootropes, glycine, polyamines and some structure analoges of putrescine are considered in the present review as the regulating cerebroprotectors. They differ from competitive and non-competitive blockers of the ionotropic glutamate receptors, which are neuroprotectors also, by ability both enhance and depotentiate the function of glutamate synapses in a dose-dependent manner.
