General principles of the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 with oral hypoglycemic drugs are shown in the article. New pharmacological possibilities due to the last decade widening of the range of the drugs are emphasized. Especial attention is made to the combined therapy with oral hypoglycemic agents.
