QUALITY OF LIFE AND CLINICAL EFFICACY OF AMLODIPINE FOR ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION THERAPY IN ADULT PATIENTS AT THE OUTPATIENT STAGE

The purpose of the work: estimation of amlodipin clinical effect dependence on the initial level of general index of quality of life (GIQL) in elder patients with arterial hypertension (AH) at the outpatient stage.

GIQL, systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP), heart rate, and spectral parameters of heart rate variability before treatment, in acute pharmacological test and during amlodipin therapy were estimated. In 4 weeks of therapy by amlodipin at the initial dose of 5 mg/day GIQL was improved. The patients with initially higher GIQL level normal BP level was reached in a dose amlodipin 5 mg/day and earlier. For normalisation of BP level the patients with initially lower GIQL needed higher dose of amlodipin (10 mg/day) or its combination with other hypotensive drugs.
