Frequency of difficult tracheal intubation in a surgical practice according to various authors makes from 3 up to 18%. The aim of our work was to evaluate the effectiveness of various factors for predicting difficult tracheal intubation. There were examined 400 patients operated on the thyroid gland. As a result of the survey it was established efficacy of the scale “Difficult intubation index” in comparison with other prognostic factors.
