The purpose of the work is to study the peculiarities of the level of lipids and lipoid substances in the tissues of prostate cancer, their qualitative composition, to compare the data obtained with the characteristics of the prostate tissue for benign pathologies. Histochemical staining with Sudan III of the prostate biopsy was used. In patients with latent prostate gland there was a slight focal concentration of cholesterol in the glands of the tumor. A vivid distinct diffuse staining of cholesterol in tumor cells in the absence of stromal staining was found in patients with aggressive cancer. The presence of cholesterol in tumor cells may be a criterion for aggressiveness of prostate cancer.
