COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF ANALGESIC ACTIVITY OF ANTICONVULSANTS IN TERMS OF EXPERIMENTAL ALLERGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS

We investigated the influence of anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, topiramate, sodium volproat, pregabalin and gabapentin) for antinociceptive system in rats under conditions of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis, which corresponds to the manifestation of clinical signs of multiple sclerosis, against basic therapy of methylprednisolone. The increase of analgesic activity in models of electroirritation of tail’s root in rats for anticonvulsants (gabapentin and pregabalin) when used together with methylprednisolone 4.1 (p=0.05) and 3.6 (p=0.05) times compared to the original background respectively. Thus changes of free radical processes in brain structures (cortex, brainstem, spinal cord) against the background of methylprednisolone administration in conjunction with gabapentin and pregabalin have shown that the combination is therapeutically data safer in comparative set of anticonvulsants.
