THE ROLE OF OXIDATIVE STRESS IN THE FORMATION OF IMMUNE RESPONSE IN ISOANTIGENIC INCOMPATIBILITY IN PREGNANT WOMEN

Hemolytic disease of fetus and newborn develops because of blood incompatibility between mother and fetus in various systems of erythrocyte antigens. Immunization can develop in women during the first or subsequent pregnancies in equal measure. We estimated the role of oxidative stress in formation of immune respnse in isoantigenic incompatibility during pregnancy. We found subpopulation of activated T- and B-lymphocytes in these patients that may be associated with an increase in antigen presentation and moderate metabolic acidosis, which in turn may be due to cytotoxic effects.
